Ingredients:

  • 4 pounds beef short ribs
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat some oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the beef short ribs with salt and pepper, then sear them in the hot oil until browned on all sides. Remove the ribs from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until they soften and become fragrant.
  4. Add the beef broth, red wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, dried thyme, and dried rosemary to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
  5. Return the beef short ribs to the skillet and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  6. Cover the skillet and let the ribs cook on low heat for about 2-3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.
  7. Once cooked, remove the short ribs from the skillet and strain the cooking liquid to remove any impurities.
  8. Return the cooking liquid to the skillet and simmer until it reduces and thickens slightly.
  9. Serve the beef short ribs with the reduced sauce and enjoy!
